Shadows of the Sunflower

Shadows of the Sunflower began with expired Polaroid film and a curiosity to explore a subject from multiple viewpoints. Interested in the symbolic nature of flowers and their representation in art, I sought a subject with both personal and broader cultural significance: the sunflower. Imbued with symbolic meanings across cultures and artistic traditions, the sunflower offered a visual narrative that I found relevant to both art and life. This collection presents my most recent studio artworks, showcasing my interest in the ephemeral nature of the photographic image, the representation of the sunflower, and the diversity of symbolism.
